BraillePad
BraillePad is a keyboard placed on the back of smart phone, which allows text entry without changing position of fingers. It makes possible to write on a what-ever external screen (e.g. video projector, VR headset, …) from any position.
Braille was developed due to Napoleon’s demand for solder to write silently to each other in dark conditions. Today Braille is mainly used as a writing and reading mean for blind people.
BraillePad is similar to BraillePen. The main difference is that BraillePen is external device, while BraillePad is fixed to smart phone.
There is also software available that utilize smart phone screen for Braille input. http://youtu.be/xlwRxzljt7g shows how mute person can make him/herself heard by speech synthesizer. The main disadvantage of software-only solution is the fact that smart phone screen is fully used as an input device.
BraillePad is placed to the back side of smart phone. It creates ergonomic text input possibility and leaves smart phone’s screen for other information presentation. If necessary, BraillePad buttons can be used also as a control devices for various games.
As a bonus, BraillePad cover works as a stand for smart phone
