Players Tracker – Smart Football ground
Problem:
There is no affordable football visual analysis solution availablel in Estonia. A person usually studies by doing, seeing and hearing – especially kids. Youngsters study football by playing. Movements and combinations are shown to them on paper or magnetic board. For analysis the same paper and magnetic board is used – however actions happening simultaneously are hard to be presented with these tools. There are no good tools for game situation post-analysis and presenting to players. The only available tool is video, but there are lots of emotional moments on videos (e.g. someone’s nice hair cut, beautiful goals, etc.) which disturb the actual studying. There is no solution for game 2D analysis in Estonia currently. Available systems are very expensive and are affordable only for world’s top football clubs.
The system should be able to track on a 120×60 metre field movements of 23 persons, identify persons and also track movement of the ball.
Possible solutions:
Option 1: game is 2D animated based on one camera picture. Players do not wear any sensors. System is portable (current top solutions use 8-12 videocameras for game analysis and animation)
Option 2: radar is tracking movements and replays them in 2D. Players do not wear any sensors. System is portable
Option 3: two beacons are installed on the side of game ground and players wear sensors. System detects players movement by triangular principle and game is represented in 2D.
Possible users for the system are all football clubs in Estonia (starting from youngsters club and finishing with premium league clubs). System could be also interesting for big football countries’ lower league clubs, who do not have huge budget to own a high-tech analysis solution.
